Makawao Pareu Black Beach Pant

“Pareu” is the Tahitian word for a lightweight printed cotton fabric that was first imported into Polynesia by the French during the early 1800s. During the 1930s, the motifs and colors of the pareu influenced the prints used in Hawaii for Aloha shirts. By the 1950s, pareu prints had become a distinct and popular style for Aloha shirts. This pareu is named after Makawao, one of our favorite Maui Paniolo towns. Our pareu print appears on this women's rayon pant, great for layering on top of a swimsuit or paired with a tank for a sunset walk on the beach.
